I will try to come up with interesting things to tell you about me, but you might get bored. Fair warning.
The part in italics is stolen from my old blog’s “About Me”.
I have red hair. This doesn’t mean I am hot tempered, a nymphomaniac, < insert inane redhead stereotype here>, it only means that I burst into flames when I go out into the sun for more than 5 minutes and that my hair is a lovely shade of strawberry-blond. The reason I know it’s “lovely” is because I always get comments such as “Is that your natural color?” or “You can’t get that from a bottle” or “I would pay big money to have hair like that”…I’ve heard them all. I used to work full-time at an IT help desk in a hospital, but now I am a SAHM part of the time and teach cake decorating (for money!) the other part of the time. I can’t tell you how fun it is to do a hobby and get paid for it. Everyone should strive to do this if they can.
My husband and I were married on March 9, 2002 in Las Vegas. We are one of those weird couples you hear about that met on the Internet. He’s in the Navy, but will be getting out next summer (yay!). I have a daughter, Elysia, from my previous marriage. She is a teenager complete with weird obsessions, a new favorite “something” every week, and friends I don’t approve of. My husband and I welcomed Travis to our family on March 7, 2007 after Trying To Conceive for 15 months. I had forgotten how much a life can revolve around a baby until I had another one and I am loving every minute of staying home with him. My cats are part of our family as well, albeit an annoying part sometimes. Callie is a long haired calico (ironic) who is very temperamental and loves only on her terms. Vader got her name because she’s all black and breathes really loudly. She was a tiger or a lion in a former life and clearly thinks we don’t eat enough because she regularly brings us birds and mice as gifts (dead usually, but sometimes we get a live one).
Things I’m interested in include cake decorating (duh), cooking (actually baking, but cooking too), listening to music (many and varied selection), reading (less now that I’ve finished the Harry Potter series), natural living (very broad category), taking pictures, figuring out how to spend my husband’s money without him knowing about it, figuring out how to save money because of the previous statement, astrology, “the paranormal” (I tend to freak myself out sometimes with this), cloth diapering (there’s a whole sub-culture out there), digital scrapboking (interested? yes…talent? no…), exercise (yes really), and staying up on current events.
My favorite number is 33, my favorite color is orange, my favorite comfort food is scrambled egg sandwiches, my favorite drink is water…boring, but good for me, I have several favorite movies, but among them are the Star Wars’es, the Harry Potter’ses, and What Dreams May Come, I have several favorite bands, but I will listen to anything good, among favorites are Coldplay, Keane, early REM…you get the idea…there’s seriously too many to name in the space here.
I have many addictions and I shall list them now for therapeutic reasons:
- Gaming – I am currently playing Lord Of The Rings Online, but have played Everquest, Star Wars Galaxies, and World Of Warcraft in the past. I also play The Sims regularly
- buying cloth diapers (yes it’s an addiction, more on that later)
- eating chocolate chips mixed with raisins
- hmmm guess I didn’t have as many as I thought I did…I’m sure there are more..I’ll have to think on it.
I don’t update my blog enough, but this is something that I hope to change.
